Allotment = a rented vegatable garden
An allotment is a piece of land which is rented from the town hall .Last week I went to visit one .It was very green because it had lots of fruit and vegetabeles .William took us on a tour to explain about the different vegetables they had .We dug up some potatoes which we ate for dinner later . They were delicious. I think it is a great place to go to get away from daily stress .I know my father would like one .But you need a lot of time to look after one .
London
Beautiful, pretty, cute, nice, lovely, good-looking, precious, marvelous, attractive, wonderfull, fascinating, divine, radiant, brilliant, exquisite, gorgeous.
During the two weeks that I was in Widnes, England, in July, one day I went to London, which is the capital of England and the UK. It's a big city with about 7 million of citzens. It's in the south of England. We traveled by train. We left Runcorn Station at 8:00 am and after two hours we arrived at Euston Station. We walked all day long. We visited a lot of places. Firstly we took the tube to Green Park, we cross the park until Buckinham Palace. There we waited for one hour to see the Change of the Guard. I find it nice but there was a lot of people. After that we went to St.James's Park, which I really liked becouse it was so beautiful. There were some ducks and squirrels. Then we came back to the tube. At one o'clock we visited the Natural History Museum. We saw the dinosaurs and the mammals exhibitions. I found them so interesting but we couldn't stopped to read all the information because there was a lot of people. When we finished we went by ruble to Westminster Station, where you can see the Big Ben, the Parlament, and Westmister Abey. I liked so much this area because the buildings are amazing. Then we crossed the bridge to the London Eye.The views into the ferris wheel are incredible. You can see all the center of the city, the river, etc. At four o'clock we took a bus to the Globe. From there we crossed the Millenium Bridge to see St. Pauls Cathedral. After that we visited Covent Garden. Later we went to Trafalgar Square and Picadilly Circus. We ended with a walk round Soho. We finished having dinner in Leister's Square Burger King. Then we came back to Euston Station at 9:00. On the train I tried to sleep but it was impossible, there were some noisy children. We arrived to Runcorn Station at 11:00. It was an amazing day, and I loved the city. In the end I was exhausted.

A recycled farm = Crocky trail
Crocky trail is a farm which is made into a park. The rides are made by wood, plastic and other basic materials.
I liked a ride on the farm which is called the Titanic. It is a plataform which is lifted and it shakes. The aim of this ride is that the person who stayed there without falling off is the winner. It a very funny ride and think that it is one of the best rides in the park. Then there is another ride which is like a raised disc. The objetive is to touch a plastic bottle which is in the air. It´s very amosing but you´ll have a lots of burns. I liked this fantastic day and I want to go back again.
Andrés
Some days ago we went to the theme park called crocky trail with Jannet and Max, by car. This theme park consists of th rides which are made of wood and rubber. From the start you can have fun because you can do a lot of things. My favourite ride was the titanic where you sit on a slippery rubber and the tipper truck goes up. Ifyou are strong you can win if you arent, you lose. People want to be the last on the ride. Another ride i liked was the space ship and on the trail.
In my opinion it is a good experience to have with thefamily and friends.

On Friday, we went to the Crocky Trail. It's a theme park made from basic materials like wood, plastic or metal. The park which was once a farm is divided into two areas. In one part there are a lots of rides. The other area is a path through the forest, with different bridges you have to cross, swings, and mazes. I liked this activity so much because I think it's a novel idea. Also the place is so beautiful in the countryside. The machines are fun too, there is one which is a circle made of rubber, you have to go up to get on it. Then it starts to spin quickly, so you have to try to hold on and not fall off. Another one, called the Titanic, a rubber mat inside the bag of a lorry, which slowly moves up.The one who doesn't slide down is the winner. I found it so difficult to stay at the top. There is also a house of horror which I didn't go into, a wall to climb, some slides, etc. The day was great but in the end we were tired and a little bit dirty.

The Roman city of Chester
Today we have been to Chester, near Liverpool. We arrived at half past nine by car. The first place where we went was St. John's Church, which was so beautiful with ancient architecture. We had to be so quiet because there were some people praying and listening to mass. Then we saw the ruins of the Roman baths and aphethetre. After that we went up onto the Roman wall, which goes all around the city. There was the Eastgate clock which I found quite pleasant but we had to wait to take a photo because a group of people stopped to chat in front of the clock (weren't there more places to talk -.-). After that we kept on walking until we came to Chester's Cathedral. We saw the inside of the building but we haven't gone up the tower. The Cathedral was really fascinating. I liked the ceiling because it was made with a lot of details. Inside the Cathedral there was a school choir singing. After that we have bought a pie which all of us have found amazing. We have visited the rest of the city- I liked the Victorian houses so much .
We went to a museum, then to a park and finally we back to the center. There we ate our packed lunch sitting on a bench while listening to street buskers. Then we went shopping for a short time. Finally we came back home. I liked Chester very much . It is the perfect city: not too big, so cute, with monuments and shops. I think that up to now it is my favourite place in England.

Today we went to Chester,it has a very beautiful ruins. We visit St. John's church which is a old cathedral, the amphitheatre, the Roman wall,Eastgate clock, the cathedral, the town hall,River Dee and the park. My favourite place was the Eastgate clock because it is reminder to the people of the fifty years of Queen Elizabeth´s reigns. I only like the Eastgather clock. Chester isn´t my favourite place.

First we went the first old Cathedral which is St John´s church. It has a very old choir, we then walked to a ruin ampitheatre . After that we went up onto the stone wall, then we came Eastgate clock which is the symbol of Chester and is very popular to the tourist. .Then we went to the Cathedral which it has Gothic style. The Town Hall which has an old clock and the river Dee which it´s a very long river and Finally we went to the park when we saw squirrels running about the trees . The place which I liked the most was the amphitheatre because it´s very big and it was built by the Romans.

I
went to Chester with my friends and Letitia by car. When we arrived in Chester
my first thought was that it is a relaxing and quiet city. Chester is a Roman
city with Victorian style houses which are painted black and white. A lot of tourists
love this place.
The
first place I visited was St.John’s church which was once the first cathedral
in Chester. After this I saw the Roman Amphitheatre. There were only few ruins
left from the original. We visited places like the Roman walls which goes all
around Chester, the Eastgate clock which is to commemorates Elisabeth II reign,
the Town Hall which has a big clock at the top , the
Cathedral which is Church of England . The last place I visited was the River Dee. It
was the most beautiful place you can visit in Chester because there were people
having lunch while watching the birds on the river and others were doing kayaking
which makes it a great place to visit. People enjoy their visit because there are
a lot of things to see and do around this old quaint Roman town.

Last Sunday I visited Liverpool. It's a city located in the north-west of England. I went to Lime-Street Station. When I arrived, the first thing I did was to take out my camera. That day I took so many photos.
I visited The Cavern, the Albert Dock, the Museum of Liverpooñ and the Maritine Museum. My favourite place was the Albert Dock because I love water and I liked the Mercy river. I also liked it becouse I found it a good place to go for a walk or go out with friends. Before I visited the dock I went to The Cavern. The famous pub where The Beatles used to play before they became famous.
I visited more interesting places, for example two museums. The Museum of Liverpool which was about the history of Liverpool through sport, music and popular entertainment. The Maritine Museum had a lot of information about the story of the Titanic, the Lusitania and the Mauritania.
The day was so nice. Liverpool is a beautiful city. I was so tired when I came back home. Another day I would like to see the two Cathedrals. This time we didn't have time.

Yesterday we went to Liverpool again by
train. Firtsly, we went to Hope Street to see the Catholic Cathedral. It has
modern arquitecture. In my opinion it looks more like a disco rather than a
church, but it’s nice. It’s a big circle with an altar in the middle which is
surrounded by benches. After this, we carried on along Hope Street to the
Anglican Cathedral. Before going into the Cathedral, we had lunch in the
graveyard below. The graveyard was full of tomb stones some of the children
thought it was a creepy place to have our packed lunch but I didn’t think so,
it was very beautiful, with a lot of trees and grass. A perfect place to enjoy
the fantastic sunshine. We spent a short time there and then we went into the
Cathedral. It was really amazing. It has a new gothic style, with high columns,
pointed arches, a huge organ and a spectacular dome. When I was there, I felt
really small. I think if a building has the power to make you feel something,
then the architect has done a good job. Later, we walked to Chinatown. The
gateway is the oldest in Europe. Next we went to the World Museum. It has five
floors. On each floor there are different exhibitions. On the first floor you
can see an aquarium. I liked it so much because I love going to aquariums and
watching the different kinds of fishes. I also liked the planetarium on the top
floor. It was really interesting to see
the stars and the different constellations. After the museum all of us were
tired, therefore we only went shopping for souvenirs. It was a tiring although
an amazing day.

I went to Liverpool, by train. I thought it
was fantastic to be here again, because I love Liverpool. This time I visited the
metropolitan cathedral which is a catholic church. The next place I visited was
the Liverpool cathedral which follow the English church, for the last place we
saw was world’s museum is my favourite place, because it had a lot of things
and the things was ordered in different floors, we saw the planetarium.
In my opinion this day was a relaxing day
because we were very tired because we went to the Crocky trail.

Yesterday we went to Liverpool again. We missed the train because we got late.
There we went to 3 places. First we went to Metropolitan´s Cathedral to the Liverpool Cathedral and finally we went to World´s Museum. My favourite place was the Metropolitan´s Cathedral because it is a very big building. It is modern. At the entrace there were many steps up to the main door. On entering the first thing I saw was the alter in the centre with the benches all around. I liked this experience and I would like to go back again.

Food : Can I have some more please ?
ENGLISH FOOD
British food has traditionally been based on
beef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish which are generally served with potatoes and
one other vegetable. The most common and typical food eaten in Britain include
the sandwich, fish and chips, pies (pastry with a filling), trifle
(jelly custard and cream) and roast dinners. Some of their main dishes have strange names like Bubble & Squeak
(which is leftover food from the Sunday roast) and Toad-in-the-Hole.
-Breakfast:
between 7:00 and 9:00
During the week the typical English breakfast
consists of a bowl of cereal, a slice of toast, orange
juice and a cup of coffee. In the winter many people
will eat "porridge”which is oats cooked with milk.
At the weekend, the traditional English
breakfast is fried eggs, bacon, sausages, fried bread, baked beans, black pudding and
mushrooms. In my opinion is it a great way to start the weekend.
-Lunch:
between 12:00 and 1:30 p.m.
Many
children at school and adults at work will have a 'packed lunch'. This
typically consists of a sandwich, a packet of crisps, a piece of fruit and a
drink. The 'packed lunch' is kept in a plastic container.
Sandwiches
are also known as a 'butty' or 'sarnie' in the north of England. Some children
here put crisps inside their butty which I think is quite unusual.
-Dinner:
between 6:30 and 20:00.
It is the main meal of the day. The evening meal is
usually called 'dinner' or 'supper'. The typical English dinner today is curry,
pasta, pizza, chips or rice.
The
Sunday Roast Dinner: is when the people usually have more time to cook and to
sit down all together. Traditionally it consists of roast meat, (cooked in the
oven for about two hours), two different kinds of vegetables and potatoes with
a Yorkshire pudding. The most common pieces of meat are beef, lamb or pork;
chicken is also popular.
Some examples of British food:
On the top left is a Sunday roast chicken dinner. On the right there 1is some toast. Underneather there is hamsoup. Nextto this you can see some typical ice-creams.

Keep calm and...Fish and chips!
Two days ago, we went to Widnes, a small town in the north-west of England where I'm staying. The part that we visited was quite cute, with a market where you can buy all kinds of things. For lunch, we bought a cone of fish and chips in one of the shops. Fish and chips are a typical take-away lunch. People normally eat them in the street with their fingers or with a wooden fork. They can be eaten with salt and vinegar. Everybody bought a cone of fish and chips. We sat on a bench to eat them. I really liked them. I hope we'll eat them again before we go back to Spain.
The other day we went to Widnes to have fish and chips. Here we went to the shop where there were a lot of different pots of gravy, mushy peas, etc. Here it is typical to order the fish and chips with salt and vinegar. We ordered a cone of chips with 3 pieces of cod. We ate them on a bench in the sunshine . The fish and chips were hot. But the chips were bland. We didn´t put any sauces on them. I think it was a good experience so that I know what they are like .
Fish and chips is a typical british dish. Some days ago we went to a place in Widnes to buy this meal. I had it with salt and vinegar on it. Andrés and i shared it because we weren´t very hungry. In the shop we could see who prepared these dishes whish the put in a cone. First they put the chips and secondly the cod with batter. We ate it on a bench. The chips were without salt but the fish was delicius.
In my opinion this dish is good but it was bland.
