What makes me happy

What makes you happy?
Ana R
I'm happy when I have been studying all day and the time comes to stop. I love this moment after studying, I relax and I feel quite good.
Another moment that makes me happy  is when my mother says we can go to have Mcdonalds or pizza. We have eaten horrible dishes all week and the weekend gives us the oportunity to eat all that delicius food, that really is rubbish.
And the happiest moment is when I'm very tired and I lay on the sofa. My feet are relaxed all my body is relaxed and the most important my mind is too.

María
When I'm with my friends because I have a very good time with them. I'm always laughing when I'm with them and I forget things that I don't like and would rather forget.
Also, when I travel I'm happy because I like seeing new places, meeting new people, learning about the life there.
And  last of all , when I'm on holiday because I can sleep and wake up when I want. I haven't got to study or to do homework. I can travel and relax.

Marta
Horse riding is one of the things that makes me happy. This sport is very likable because both horse and I are together working as a team. I like to care and learn things about the horses.
I normaly go at the weekend, and the classes are enjoyable because I like the exercises that the teacher tell me to do.Before going to class I put on my riding clothes, which are special trousers and boots. First I saddle my horse. I put the saddle on ,the bridal and the reins. Then when I finish I  put on my helmet and my gloves. Finally I'm ready to ride my horse.
During the week I'm looking forward to horse riding because I'm happy when I'm there.

I´m  a very cheerful person so it´s hard to make me unhappy or angry. I quite like going out with my friends because I laugh a lot . I do silly things that  I love making people laugh. I think in life it is very important to have sense of humor so you can enjoy life.

Another thing that I love is coming to England, so I love imagining being with my boyfriend in England, eating a roast dinner and having some delicious ice-cream for dessert. That would make me ecstatic. What also makes me happy is the sea. I love being in contact with it so even watching the waves makes me very happy.

Great Expectations (Charles Dickens) Summary

SUMMARY

In England in the 1800s many children were  orphans and had  a very bad life. One of these children was Pip. He lived in a village with his brother, a blacksmith, and one day he finds a fugitive on the marshes. He helps the fugitive to escape.

Some time later Pip receives money from someone he doesn't know who and travels to London where he becames a gentleman. This is Pip's story full of adventures, love and hates and mistery.

In the end Pip will show how life is and that the most  important thing in life is to be honest.

Pip is a young orphan boy living with his sister Mrs. Joe and her husband Joe Gargery in the marshes of Kent. One evening Pip sits in the nearby graveyard staring at his parent’s tombstones, when out of nowhere a convict comes  up from behind the tombstones and grabs Pip. The convict orders Pip to get him food and a file for his leg irons. Pip obeys in fear, but when he comes back with the items the convict has been captured. The convict also defends Pip by saying he stole these items from him. Days go by and Pip goes with  his uncle Mr. Pumblechook to play at Satis house, the wealthy Miss Havisham. During his visit he meets a young girl called  Estella. Although she treats him poorly on his visit. Pip falls in love with her and dreams of becoming a wealthy gentlemen to be with her . Time goes by and Pip visits the Satis house regularly. With Miss Havishams guidance Pip becomes an apprentice of his brother-in-law, Joe, who is the village blacksmith. Pip  works but unhappily and struggles to get a better education from the help of plain, Biddy. Later one night Pips sister, Mrs. Joe, is attacked viscously by an unknown suspect. Pip thinks he knows who did it but he isn’t positive. Time flies by and Pip meets a lawyer named Jaggers who tells him he has a secret benefactor with a large fortune for him, but he must go to London.

OUR OPINION ABOUT GREAT EXPECTATIONS

Miguel: I didn't like this book.  It's was boring. All the time was the same story. I think a good book needs to talk about more than two things and this book only talks about one thing: The poor guy who has  great expectations.

Fran: It was  boring. I didn't like it.  Maybe it  is a good book but in my opinion it's very boring the story is the same story all the time.

Sergio: I think it's OK but sometimes you know what is going to happen and this style is a little bit boring.

Sandra: In the middle of the book I didn't understand so much but the story is good.

Nadia: I like this  book, but I prefer the other one  about witches  because in  the first part it's interesting but then it start to be boring.

Sara: I like the book, but I think there are many books better than this, for example, the other book that we have read. Apart from this, the story is a little bit boring and like Sergio has said, sometimes you know what is going to happen but...

The Witches of Pendle (Rowena Akingemi) Summary

SUMMARY

In England in the 1600s many people believed in witches. A witch can be an old woman or a boy. But they are usually women, and everybody is afraid of them, because a witch can kill anyone just with a curse.

In 1612, near Pendle Hill in Lancashire, England lived a girl called  Jennet Device. She was nine years old and she was poor, thin and hungry. She had no shoes or coat and sometimes nothing to eat for days. Life was not easy for Jennet Device.

Her grandmother, Old Demdike, was a witch. Her mother, Elizabeth and her sister Alizon were witches too. Ever her poor stupid brother James was a witch, or that is what the villagers believed.

This is Jennet's story about  her family. It begins in 1634 when Jennet is a prisioner in Lancaster Castle.
